How Phil Floyd Helped Carmyllie Village Hall Raise Over £1,000 in One Night

Like most village halls, Carmyllie relies on fundraising events that raise real money, not just cover their own costs — harder than it sounds for something people haven't seen before. The idea came from within the committee itself: Phil and Kati Harwood are both Carmyllie committee members, and Phil — recently retired, and a musician — had spent recent years building Phil Floyd, a full-scale theatrical Pink Floyd production with live saxophone and keyboards, synchronised lighting, video and stage effects. Rather than a hall hire, they offered Carmyllie a genuine fundraising partnership: tickets split 50/50, with the hall keeping 100% of bar and raffle takings on top — and Phil and Kati's own production costs covered entirely from their side of the split.
